Rapid Oil Spill Containment – AVAILABLE FOR LICENSING!
AML has developed and patented an elegant, low-cost and environmentally benign solution for rapidly containing oil spills, ruptures or leaks in metal structures and deep-water oil spills. AML validated the magnet based solution in a scaled version of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. A report and video were produced which outline the results of the test, and AML president Mark Senti discussed the application in a CNN interview.

Impact Innovation Alliance: A joint venture marrying superconductivity with complementary technologies and expertise for demonstration on a global platform
Using Chile as a global platform, the Impact Innovation Alliance combines the resources of AML, the Advanced Innovation Center of Chile and Avina to develop high-value water and industrial solutions. It integrates AML’s superconductivity and next-generation magnet technologies with AIC’s proven water treatment solutions, which employ innovative plasma, ultrasound and related industrial processing solutions. It will draw input and participation from many of Chile’s most important industries, including mining, manufacturing and energy production. In addition it will serve as a showcase for large-scale superconducting applications that address the global demand for an improved environment.
Harnessing superconductivity to make water cleaner
Water is essential for agriculture, industry and everyday human consumption. With growing urbanization and industrialization around the world, the need for more effective water treatment and purification is acute. Since the mid-1990s, superconducting magnetic separation has been regarded as a powerful breakthrough in water treatment, but has only been applied on a limited scale.
AML’s expertise and advanced development process now makes magnetic separation technology for water treatment applications far more practical and cost-effective than ever. This method can achieve both higher throughput and lower cost, compared to conventional systems. It can reduce the expenditure of land for installation, the personnel expenses of experts for operation and the additional cost for processing waste sludge. Most important, it can complement existing systems.

“…can be used not only for securing industrial water but also for purifying waste water. In some cases, it provides a powerful means for circulation of material resources. In addition, it can treat urban waste water, provide drinking water from groundwater and provide appropriate processing of industrial waste water in developing countries.” 1
